Writing for Wellbeing

I have just started facilitating a new course for adults who want to discover the pleasure of writing in Honiton. “The course is about exploring the creative process without being self critical, or receiving criticism. It is about feeling better about your writing and yourself through enjoyable exercises which I will set. At the start of each of the six weekly sessions I encourage participants to relax and just write what they think, or hear; then we will do other exercises to keep us writing. People can read out what they write if they wish, but can keep it private if they prefer.” Called ‘Writing for Wellbeing” the six week course is not about getting published or improving spelling and grammar.

Life is a story, make yours the best seller.

I am an experienced adult education tutor and have led many creative workshops in the visual arts and writing. I have worked for Mind – the mental health organisation; and Magic Carpet, an Exeter based arts charity that works with people with learning disabilities and mental health issues. “I have experience of working with people who face challenges in their lives, but this course is open to all people who feel the urge to write.”

I am looking at new venues for the course in the Spring so keep an eye open for further news!
